The known antecedents of Hood Vores & Allwood go back to the 19th century. In the early part of the last century, Benjamin Vores practised in Dereham on his own. In 1929 he was joined by Leslie Allwood, who was then newly qualified as a solicitor. Shortly afterwards, Benjamin Vores died and Leslie Allwood changed the firm name to "Vores & Allwood". Later he merged the business with that of Jacomb Hood and the present name came into being.
Currently, there are five partners and twenty or so members of staff.
It has always been the case that the majority of staff remain with the firm for quite long periods of time. The partners have always prided themselves that this continuity exists and are keen that it should continue. The partners have also always had a policy of offering training contracts to suitable trainee solicitors.
